Winter Wedding at The Ashes Barns in Staffordshire – Devan & Andy
Devan and Andy’s winter wedding at The Ashes in Endon, Staffordshire, came together beautifully after heavy snow the night before and a missing bride in a snow drift!!
On the morning of their wedding I woke up, pulled back the curtains to see a white landscape being peppered with heavy snow, I was excited!!! Getting to the bride, however, was tricky as police had closed the Buxton Road because of an accident and the snow. So I became a little worried trying to get to Devan, in their remote cottage on the hills in Upper Hulme. After trying for 45 mins I decided to check in with The Ashes as we had no phone communication with Devan or Andy. So eventually I settled at their wedding venue chatting with their make-up artist and the event team at The Ashes and finally got word that the bride was ok and on her way – phew!!!! (Only to later report they had got stuck in a snow drift…)
When Devan did arrive there was a great sense of relief…… The rest of the day involed snow ball fights, mulled wine and hot chocolates sharing the day with loved ones – a perfect winter wedding!!
I was only with D&A for half a day’s coverage but for the time we spent together I just loved being with them, nothing fazed them – young, carefree and out to have a blast.
