If you’re planning your wedding, one of the most important decisions you’ll have to make is choosing your wedding photographer.

A photographer’s website and their social channels are a great place to start.  From here you can see their photography style how they approach a wedding, and you can glance over any reviews they may have from previous couples/clients.

Choosing Your Wedding Photographer

Best Wedding Photographers

Another deciding factor that can help you as a couple to find the very best wedding photographer near you is to see if they are recognised in the wedding photography industry.

A good way for a photographer to achieve this status is to be involved in a community of photographers that acknowledges a photographer’s talent.

That’s why as a Staffordshire wedding photographer I have joined a global community of photographers, called MyWed.  MyWed is a collective of more than 45,000 photographers worldwide, mainly shooting weddings, engagements and families.
I really like the community; it’s a great source of inspiration, constructive feedback and it has some of the best photographers in the world listed.

Choosing The Best Wedding Photographer UK

Award-winning wedding photographer in Staffordshire

I submit my best work on a regular basis, and for the first time I entered into the final awards of the year in 2022.

I recently won two awards from MyWed, one being the overall winner in the “Hands & Arms” category – https://mywed.com/en/award-2022/winner/331/

The two images I submitted were actually from the same wedding as well.  They were from Kate & Helios’s wedding, held in my home town of Leek.  Despite them only having me for a few hours of photography coverage, I came away with two images that received accolades globally.  Now it goes without saying that I’d never have received these awards if it wasn’t for Kate & Helios, and they were a pleasure to work with.  I truly believe that as a wedding photographer, you and your couple need to have an understanding of trust and a collaborative goal to make beautiful photography naturally.

Winning these awards not only honours my hard work and talent but also highlights my ability to document a wedding creatively.  Winning the overall “Hands & Arms” category is a classic example of true documentary photography. (The word documentary is used by so many wedding photographers nowadays as a selling gimmick)

Winning these awards confirms that I possess these qualities and can deliver a documentary wedding photography service to the highest standard.

Furthermore, these awards provide tangible proof of my talent and expertise in wedding photography. These awards are a testament to my commitment to providing my couples with the best possible service and products. By taking the time to enter and win awards, I can demonstrate to couples that I am invested in my craft and true to my word as a multi-award-winning documentary wedding photographer!
