Carla & Mark booked me as their wedding photographer all the way from California. After exchanging emails we had a Skype chat and decided to have their pre-wedding session a few days before the wedding (the only way to fit everything in). Mark wanted the shoot to involve his grandad’s farm, in High Peak, Derbyshire, where he grew up as a child – I loved the idea of that!!
I met with C&M at the Swan Inn pub and we set off in their car to the location. It was a lovely area, High Peak is generally very beautiful!! We spent an hour or so having some photos around the field where Mark played as a child. I think these two missed the British countryside, all the lovely trees and greenery, CA is very urban.
Towards the end of the photography session Mark showed me a small bridge where his grandparents carved their initials into the stone when they were younger – we had a picture here that proved to be one of my favourites because of the story behind it. It was really nice to spend time with Carla & Mark before their wedding, we had only really spoken online and it was great to see them in person and find out more about them.
After the pre-wedding session they took me out for dinner (how awesome is that!!!) – just love these guys 🙂 We got to know each other even more over a drink and some delicious seafood.
Here are a few of my favourites from 60-odd images…..
