Autumn Family Photography Session
When it comes to family photography I find that I’m always busiest around spring and autumn. It’s easy to understand why, seasons play a big part in outdoor family photography. I love the colours and how the surroundings transform into a more vivid and beautiful landscape.
From talking with Jaycus I knew she was really keen on having a leafy autumn backdrop for their family photography session. I knew just the place, Dimmingsdale Woods. This location in Alton is a real treat for that forest, autumnal vibe.
Sadly, a week before their family shoot we were hit with bad storms, which unfortunately knocked most of the leaves off the trees. Knowing this I scouted the area earlier in the day to check if the location was still suitable, thankfully it was!
Seasonal Family Photo Shoots
I greeted Jaycus and her family in the car park and led them to an area perfect for some introduction shots. One positive from the recent storm was the ground was now covered in brown, red and orange leaves. This proved really useful when photographing their seven-month-old sitting on the floor. With help from mum and dad their son soon relaxed and we captured some lovely natural pictures. The area I had chosen for their family photography session was working really well! Plenty of seasonal colours to work with, geometry and composition to add to their final gallery of images.
Jaycus and Jason are such loving parents and it was abundantly clear to see this as they sang and cuddled Tayden despite the weather turning to rain. I could see Tayden was getting tired and we decided to let him have a sleep in his buggy. This was a great opportunity for J&J to have some photographs together, to conclude their family photography session.
Thank you so much Jaycus, Jason and Tayden for allowing me into your lives briefly. I really enjoyed capturing your family bond, you’re a lovely family and I hope to see you again in the not too distant future.
