I was really pleased to hear from Tina & Graham again (Dylan’s parents) that they wanted to arrange another portrait session as Dylan was now up on his own two feet exploring the world. The last time we all met was at their home address in Cheshire and Dylan was a super fast crawler, taking an interest in all things noisy and catching bubbles. After exchanging emails we all decided that Trentham Gardens in Stoke-on-Trent would be the ideal location for this summery outdoor portrait photography session. I’d visited and photographed the gardens there a few times and knew just how stunning a location it was – I was excited!.
We couldn’t have planned it any better – it was a glorious day in Stoke-on-Trent and Trentham Gardens was buzzing with activity, full of families enjoying the beautiful weather. We immediately headed for the Italian Gardens, it was a little quieter and there was plenty of space for Dylan to have a run. The ground there was a vivid lush green and Dylan was happy picking daisies and handing them to his dad. I looked like the laziest photographer, shooting most of my pictures on my front, head buried into the camera finding interesting angles. We moved around to the far side of the gardens where a huge patch of daffodils were growing – these looked fantastic and made some beautiful pictures for mum and dad.
Dylan had me really laughing a few times on this session – the first is when he kept looking at everything from underneath his legs while attempting a headstand and the other was when he kept trying to get into and pick up my camera bag, all of which was captured on camera ha ha ha.
I thoroughly enjoyed this portrait session, Dylan was in high spirits and full of energy, and mum and dad were a real pleasure to work with as always.
Here are a few pics from the session.
